To accomplish our mission, we:
Beginning in 2008, The SOCRCC began a self-assessment of its key purpose, functions, and relationships with its affiliate chambers. While still in development, the new focus of the SOCRCC is to provide events and services to businesses throughout Orange County. This, naturally, has presented an opportunity for Lake Forest businesses to explore the potential of forming a completely independent Chamber of Commerce.
Fortunately, the City of Lake Forest and Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce have had a long history of helping local businesses prosper. Those involved with the affiliate Lake Forest Chamber believe an independently-run, local chamber will offer the potential for the needs of the Lake Forest business community to be met. In June, 2008, an ad hoc committee comprised of City and Chamber representatives was formed to explore various factors involved with this process. And, after months of surveys, interviews, and research, the New Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce was formed on November 10, 2008.
While the Lake Forest Chamber is still in its infancy, we are encouraged by its forward momentum and progress made to date. What's more, we have a key advantage in that we're not tied down by any traditions. We are re-thinking what a chamber can and should be. Please take a moment to go through this website and/or talk to one of our Corporate Board Members. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised with what the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce can do for you!
